What is Spray Foam Insulation?

Spray Foam is a type of insulation material that is sprayed onto surfaces in a liquid form and expands to fill gaps, cracks, and cavities, providing a seamless, airtight barrier. It is commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating and cooling costs. Spray foam is known for its excellent thermal insulation properties and its ability to seal air leaks effectively.

Once sprayed, it expands to multiple times its original size, filling even the smallest gaps and creating a solid, continuous layer of insulation.

Spray foam is durable and will not sag, settle, or shrink over time, unlike traditional insulation materials like fiberglass.

Thermal Insulation:

Spray foam provides a high R-value, which means it offers excellent thermal resistance. This helps to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures by reducing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer.

Air Sealant:

One of the main advantages of spray foam insulation is its ability to create an airtight seal, which minimizes air leakage. This improves overall energy efficiency and helps to reduce the workload on HVAC systems.

Moisture Barrier:

Especially closed-cell spray foam can act as a moisture barrier, preventing water from entering walls, roofs, and other areas prone to moisture, which can lead to mold growth or structural damage.

Soundproofing:

Open-cell spray foam can help reduce noise transmission, making it ideal for use in walls, ceilings, and floors to provide soundproofing between rooms.

How long does Spray Foam Insulation last?

Indefinitely. As an inert, long-lasting polymer plastic, a house wall or commercial structure is the perfect place for spray foam insulation to do its job for a very long time.

What’s the difference between Closed-Cell and Open-Cell foam insulation?

When choosing spray foam insulation, it helps to know the difference between closed-cell and open-cell foam. Closed-cell foam is dense and rigid, offering a higher insulation value and acting as a moisture barrier perfect for basements, garages, and exterior walls. On the other hand, open-cell foam is lighter, more flexible, and great for reducing noise inside your home. It’s ideal for attics and interior walls. Both types help improve comfort and energy efficiency your choice depends on where it’s going and what your home needs most.

Does Spray Foam Insulation contain any harmful substances?

Spray foam insulation is made from polyurethane resins similar to the safe finishes used on wood furniture. It contains no formaldehyde or toxic additives, making it a reliable and safe choice for your home or business.

At what point of construction is Spray Foam Insulation sprayed into place?

Spray foam insulation is applied after the plumbing and electrical rough-ins are done, but before the drywall goes up. It forms a snug seal around pipes and fills gaps in exterior walls, creating a nearly seamless barrier against the elements. Even in challenging weather, professional crews can complete an average 1800 sq. ft. home in just 6 to 8 hours fast, efficient, and built to last.

Is Spray Foam Insulation environmentally friendly?

Our spray foam insulation is made with a new generation of environmentally friendly materials and contains no CFCs. It’s designed to deliver exceptional energy efficiency, helping to lower your heating and cooling needs. That means a more comfortable home and a smaller carbon footprint, thanks to reduced emissions from heating systems and power plants.
